Hernando County Sheriff's Office deputies and SWAT personnel have an active shooter cornered in a house in the Hill n'Dale neighborhood of Hernando County, according to Sheriff Al Neinhuis.

Neinhuis told media gathered near the scene that a call reporting gunshots in the Hill n'Dale area came in around 8:45 p.m. Preliminary reports indicated there are three victims in the shooting so far.
The shooter, according to Neinhuis, is cornered inside a house in the area. More SWAT personnel is en route, as well as a hostage negotiator.
However, deputies believe there is no one else in the house with the shooter. Neighboring homes have been evacuated for the safety of residents.
Neinhuis also said there had been a report of a shooting in Brooksville shortly before the call came from the Hill n'Dale area. It's unclear if the two shootings are related.
On their Facebook page, the Sheriff's Office told residents to remain indoors and call 911 to report suspicous activity.
No further information has been released.
