ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Friday into Saturday morning, along with a look at conditions into next week.

  • Mainly dry
  • Lower humidity
  • Wetter next week

Skies will be mostly clear overnight into early Saturday morning, with just an isolated chance of a passing shower coming in from the Atlantic.

Morning lows will be a couple of degrees lower, bottoming out in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Saturday will be a mostly sunny day, with just some patchy clouds and a very small chance of a passing shower. There will be less than a 10 percent chance. Highs will again be hot in the low 90s.

However, the mornings and evenings are more comfortable in this current pattern because the east wind is bringing in drier, less humid air.

Saturday night will be perfect for outdoor activities, with mostly clear skies and lows in the upper 60s to low 70s.

Sunday will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy, with a 20 percent chance of a late day shower. Highs will be in the low 90s.

Moisture will be on the increase next week, so expect the rain chances to be on the rise.

Monday will be partly cloudy with a 30 to 40 percent chance of afternoon scattered storms.

Tuesday through Thursday will feature increasing clouds and moisture with about a 50 percent coverage of scattered showers and storms. The rain chance could go higher depending on the exact path of an eventual tropical low that will likely end up in the Gulf of Mexico next week.
