ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Here's your Tampa area weather forecast for late Monday into Tuesday morning, along with a preview of conditions throughout the week.

After a very brief dry and slight cool spell last Saturday morning, we quickly returned to the summer-like conditions we have had for months.

A ridge of high pressure aloft sitting over Florida and parts of the Southeast United States is keeping us very warm and keeping storm systems and their cold fronts away from our area.

As a result, our temperatures will be near record highs for the rest of the week. With the increase in humidity, we will also have a small chance for daily showers.

By the weekend, a cold front will move into the Southeast and may break the pattern down a little bit, allowing for some slight cooler weather to come in by the second half of the weekend.

Fingers crossed!
