CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. — An 81-year-old man was killed in a head-on collision after his vehicle veered into the wrong lanes. 

Joseph Raquel, 81, of Inverness, was traveling eastbound on East Gulf to Lake Hwy in his Honda Odyssey when for an unknown reason, his vehicle traveled into the westbound lanes. 

Troopers said the Honda collided head-on with a Toyota Camry driven by 28-year-old Andrew Gilman, of Lecanto.

The crash occurred at about 7:25 p.m. on Saturday.

Raquel was transported to Citrus Memorial Hospital where he died from his injuries. Gilman was transported to Ocala Regional Medical Center in serious condition.
