Nemours Urgent Care has expanded its hours in Central Florida during this flu season.

The new hours took effect Feb. 1 in its locations at Lake Nona, Kissimmee, Melbourne, Sandford and Waterford Lakes.

The change comes amid this year’s flu activity, which the Florida Department of Health reports has increased sharply for the fourth week in a row, creating longer waits at the emergency room.

Nemours says they want to offer relief to parents this flu reason.

Dr. Robert Cooper, the medical director of Nemours in Central Florida, said he expects flu reason to persist possibly into April of May.
