Deputies responded to a report of shots fired at the Carrollwood Gables Condominiums around 2:30 p.m., according to authorities.

The victims were transported to separate hospitals — one to St. Joseph's Hospital, the other to Tampa General Hospital.

One witness, Cassi Nesbit, said if it weren’t for the shattered windows on one mini-van or the car with an apparent bullet hole in the front side door, she would have never guessed a shooting occurred there.

Nesbit told us she drove up one minute after investigators say shots rang out. She said she saw the two men lying on the ground just a few feet away from her home.

“I thought that they got hit by a car, because I saw an Amazon Prime truck right here, and that’s what I thought it was," she explained. "I would never think it was a shooting."

Nesbit said the victims were screaming and neighbors came out to help and call 911.

She and several other neighbors said they didn’t recognize the victims. They also said they didn’t recognize the suspect.

Newly installed surveillance cameras captured video of the alleged suspect, who has shoulder length blonde hair. He was wearing a black-and-blue plaid jacket with a grey hood, black jeans and what appear to be flip-flops and socks.

No information has been released regarding a motive for the shootings or the condition of the victims.
