WINTER HAVEN, Fla. — An Auburndale motorcyclist is accused of hitting a pedestrian and leaving the scene of the crash.

  • Charles Kennedy, 20, faces multiple charges
  • Crash happened Saturday; Kennedy was arrested Sunday
  • 62-year-old Robert Marshall hospitalized

It happened Saturday at the intersection of 6th St NW and Ave. M NW in Winter Haven.

The Winter Haven Police Department said 62-year-old Robert Marshall was crossing when Charles Kennedy, 20, struck him and knocked him to the ground.

Marshall is in serious but stable condition at a local hospital.

Kennedy left the scene, according to witnesses, and parts of the motorcycle including a mirror were left behind.

The motorcycle was found Sunday evening and eventually traced to Kennedy.

Kennedy was found at his home and arrested. He was charged with leaving the scene of a crash with injuries, knowingly giving false information to police driving with license suspended/revoked.

He was booked into the Polk County Jail.
