TAMPA, Fla. — Prosecutors in the Granville Ritchie murder trial continued laying out a timeline Friday of the 2014 murder of 9-year-old Felecia Williams.

Ritchie is accused of raping and killing the girl on May 16, 2014. Police said he strangled the girl, raped her, put her body in a suitcase and threw it into the water near the Courtney Campbell Causeway.

Most of Thursday morning's testimony came from retired Temple Terrace Police Detective Thomas Carroll, who was the lead investigator on the case.

He also interrogated Ritchie.

On the stand Thursday, Carroll recounted the evidence surrounding Williams' disappearance. Her body was found a day after she went missing.

Officials are slated to discuss more potential evidence found in Ritchie's car Thursday afternoon.
