ORLANDO, Fla. – A new runDisney virtual series will pay tribute to one of Disney’s classic animated films.

This summer’s virtual series will celebrate “The Lion King,” Disney announced Monday.
The virtual event will include three 5Ks, with each featuring its own medal inspired by a different version of “The Lion King”—from the animated film to the Broadway musical. The event will also have a Virtual Challenge, which includes all three 5Ks and those finisher medals plus a special challenge medal.
With the virtual series, runners can complete their race anywhere. Once registered they will be able to download their own themed race bib and at-home kit that includes a start line, finish line and mile markers.
Registration for the virtual event will open April 8 at 10 a.m. ET. The cost for each race will be $40, while the Virtual Challenge will cost $145.
Participants will have from April 8 to August 31 to complete their race.
