TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa's Winter Village at Curtis Hixon Park is opening Friday for the 2021 holiday season.

Located along the Tampa Riverwalk, the village transforms the park into a holiday winter wonderland.

"It really adds vibrancy to the city and gets everybody out to celebrate the holidays," said Linda Raymond, President & CEO of Tampa's Downtown Partnership.

What You Need To Know

This year, the Tampa Bay Lightning are sponsoring a light show in the village every 30 minutes, featuring its teams colors.

Seven retail shops will be open inside the village, along with the biggest attraction returning this year, the ice skating rink.

No walk-ups will be allowed for the ice skating rink to limit the number of people waiting in line and on the ice.

Reservations can be made online at wintervillage.com or tampasdowntown.com.

The Village is a bit bigger this year too.

Tampa's Downtown Partnership says it will extend into some streets downtown and connect another nearby park.

"We are extending winter village into Lykes Gaslight Park and Franklin Street so you'll see additional lighting, some illuminated street pole ornaments going up.  There's also ice cream in Lykes Gaslight Park so you can go over there and relax and have some ice cream," Raymond said.
