ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Coastal storms will move west to the Gulf of Mexico and it will become mostly clear overnight.

East winds keep our dew points on the lower side of normal. So, low temperatures will be comfortable again with most of the area in the low to mid 70s.

Monday will start out comfortable with mostly sunny skies. It get hot quickly with the sun. High temperatures will be in the low to mid 90s.

Showers and storms will develop in the afternoon and will move west toward the Gulf in the evening.

The rain coverage Tuesday stays at about 40 percent with a decent amount of atmospheric moisture overhead.

Some drier moves in Wednesday, so the coverage then drops to 30 percent or less Wednesday through Friday.

For the workweek, prevailing winds will continue out of the east, so storms will be later in the day.

Afternoon highs will still be in the low 90s. With lighter winds though, a sea breeze is more likely, so the coastal areas will get a cooler sea breeze in the afternoons.

Morning lows will be in the mid 70s.

TROPICS

Sub tropical storm Leslie has formed in the Atlantic Ocean. It really shouldn’t even be named as it is more cold core, part of an upper level low pressure area, the winds are far removed from the center, it is over cool water, and it is going to dissipate over the next 48 hours as it drifts westward. Nonetheless, it is the season’s twelfth named storm.
