Strong scattered thunderstorms moved through the Bay area on Thursday evening, causing some damage with it.

Most of the storms produced just heavy rain and lightning, but there was one that was stronger that went over Largo and Indian Rocks Beach.

"It contained hail, intense lightning, and strong gusty winds as it pushed out into the Gulf," said Bay News 9 meteorologist Brian McClure. "There were some damage reports associated with the storm but it’s too early to know if it was a small tornado or a microburst of strong winds."

Strong storms travelled west from western Manatee to Pasco, Pinellas, and Hillsborough counties.

Parts of the Bay area were hit with storms on Wednesday, leading to flooding in central Pinellas County.

According to our meteorologists, the summer months were some of the wettest months on record for some counties.
