DADE CITY, Fla. — A pastor in Dade City has nowhere to hold services after Sunday’s storm ripped the roof from his church.

Pastor Harold Reeves of Full Gospel Church of God in Christ is doing his best to keep the faith after seeing everything inside his church ruined from rain water.

“I still find in grace in God. He doesn’t make any mistakes,” Reeves said as he looked at the damage.

He says he had just wrapped up services at the church an hour before the storm came through.

Later he received word that the roof was gone.

“All I could think was 'thank you Lord that no one was in that church when it happened,'” Reeves said.

For now, he’s had to cancel services due to everything being drenched inside.

“Everything in here is wet. The entire ceiling is ruined," he explained. "If you look at the chairs where the water leaked down, there was about an inch of water in the carpet."

He lost his organ, drum set and other equipment, setting him back tens of thousands of dollars.

According to our weather experts, 60 mph winds went through that the area on Sunday. The only major damage in Dade City was to the church.

Reeves says he’s determined to get it back open.

“We have a lot ahead of us, but we’re going to make it happen," he told us. "It will happen. We will have church here again."
