A Monday morning fire caused serious damage at the Wing House in Town ‘n’ Country in Tampa.

The two-alarm fire broke out at the business in the 8000 block of W. Hillsborough Avenue.

Smoke could be seen billowing from the building after the fire was reported just after 7 a.m.

Fire crews responded to find hazy smoke in the restaurant and immediately laddered the back of the building where a heating unit was located.

The crew took a dry chemical extinguisher to the roof and extinguished the flames inside the handler. Crews quickly identified additional flames that had spread through the attic space and called for a second alarm.

The fire spread quickly through the attic space, making it unsafe for fire rescue to remain on the roof or in the interior of the building. Two aerial apparatus were used to extinguish the flames from above.

There were no injuries.

The cause of the fire hasn’t been announced.
