HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — Kathy Castor and Alan Cohn claimed comfortable victories Tuesday in congressional districts 14 and 15, respectively.

Cohn took 33 percent of the vote to win a five-person race in District 15, which covers parts of Polk, Hillsborough and Pasco.

Cohn, a former television investigative news reporter, said he is looking forward to the November general election, where he will face Laurel Lee, who bested four other candidates with 41 percent of the vote.

In the 14th District, incumbent Kathy Castor cruised to victory, garnering more than 90 percent of the vote.

Castor will face Republican James Judge in the November general election.

"You can count on me to take up the mantel for St. Petersburg and the Tampa Bay area and taking on the special interests in Washington D.C.,” Castor told a crowd of supporters Tuesday evening. “I'm still going to have a battle ahead in November and I'm going to need your help."

Florida’s 14th District encompasses eastern parts of Pinellas County, including South St. Pete, as well as parts of Hillsborough County including Westchase, South Tampa and Ybor City.
