GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida Gators quarterback Anthony Richardson said Monday he will forego the team's upcoming bowl game and the rest of his playing eligibility and enter the NFL Draft.

Richardson threw for 17 touchdowns and 2,549 yards this season for the Gators, who went 3-5 in the SEC and 6-6 overall.

"As I take my next step in the journey, I will always be a Gator and strive to make Gator Nation proud!" he said in a post on Twitter.

Richardson finishes his career with 24 touchdowns, 15 interceptions and 3,105 passing yards.

The team takes on Oregon State on Dec. 17 in the Las Vegas Bowl.
