Carpenter has also been charged with one count of resisting an officer and armed trespassing.

Sheriff’s officials said deputies were patrolling Beacon Meadows Park in Carrollwood and encountered Carpenter. Officials said Carpenter was accused of trespassing at the park on the previous day.

On Sunday, officials said Carpenter refused to leave and Tasers were used on him. While on the ground, he shot at deputies three times, hitting one deputy.

Officials say the bullet hit the deputy's shoulder microphone, which kept him from being seriously hurt.

The deputy was treated and released the same day.

The other two deputies were not injured.
