KISSIMMEE, Fla. — With months still to go until the holiday season, Gaylord Palms has revealed the theme for its Christmastime attraction ICE!, which returns Nov. 17.

The seasonal exhibit — which includes dozens of colorful, larger-than-life ice sculptures — will feature a theme based on “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”

Peanuts characters like Lucy, Sally, Linus and Peppermint Patty will be brought to life by a team of 40 artisans from China who will carve the characters out of 2 million pounds of ice.

The exhibit will include different scenes recreated from the animated holiday special that visitors can travel through.

The entire 20,000 square-foot-exhibit will be kept at a frigid 9 degrees Fahrenheit to keep the ice sculptures from melting. Visitors will be given large blue parkas to keep them warm.

Visitors will also be able to slide down two-story ice slides and see live carving demonstrations at the Carver’s Showcase.

Gaylord officials say it will take the artisans about five weeks to create the exhibit.

“We are so pleased to bring this Central Florida holiday tradition back for our guests in 2023," Gaylord Palms general manager Johann Krieger said in a statement. “Since debuting here in 2003, ICE! Has become a one-of-a-kind attraction for our guests, and one of our most popular events of the year.”

Gaylord Palms’ ICE! had the “A Charlie Brown Christmas” theme back in 2016. Last year’s theme was based on Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.”

ICE! is among several other holiday festivities planned for Gaylord Palms’ Christmas event. The resort will also have a “Cirque: Spirit of Christmas” show, a Naughty or Nice Escape Room, a light show in the atrium, a Snoopy scavenger hunt, a Christmas tree trail and more.

Ticket prices range depending on date. Admission to ICE! starts at $32.99 for adults and $22.99 for children.
