TAMPA, Fla. — The Rhapsody is coming to Tampa ... next summer.

Queen, the British rock group made famous by such hits as "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "We Will Rock You," announced Monday that they will hit tour North America in 2019. One of their stops will be Amalie Arena, where they will take the stage on August 18.

As they did in 2014, the group will tour with longtime collaborator and front man Adam Lambert on lead vocals. Tickets for the Tampa show, officially billed "Queen + Adam Lambert", go on sale December 7.

The group will tour for six weeks and hit 23 cities in North America. They'll kick off the tour in Vancouver, British Columbia on July 10.

According to a media release by the band, the show aspires to "expand the parameters of what a live music experience can be."

"This new show promised to be their most spectacular yet, an innovative and interactive celebration of the continued power of Queen's music," said set designer Ric Lipson.

"We are ready for America and raring to get back in the saddle," said original band member Roger Taylor while announcing the tour."

The band's pop culture presence and discography are enjoying a resurgence in 2018 thanks to the box office success of "Bohemian Rhapsody," a musical biopic about the band and its original lead vocalist, the late Freddie Mercury. "Rhapsody" has earned over $540 million worldwide to date and is set to become the highest grossing music biopic of all time.
