SPRING HILL, Fla. — Spring Hill resident Debra Beaulieu is full of energy despite the change in her lifestyle.

What You Need To Know

  • Debra Beaulieu is a victim of a dog attack

  • She was struggling to move around her home after surgeries

  • Deputy, business owner donated a scooter to "Ms. Debbie"

“When I turned, there were these big huge white mastiffs, brown and white mastiffs, and pitbulls just charging me, having breakfast,” Beaulieu told me as she described that horrific morning in February when she was attacked by her neighbor’s dogs.

After several surgeries, the woman everyone calls Ms. Debbie needed help getting around the house.

“When it occurs, you don’t have any idea the difficulties until you incur them,” she said.

When Hernando County Deputy Michael Woodward heard of Ms. Debbie, he immediately jumped into action.

“I wasn’t here the day of, but I heard about the horrific details of what was going on,” Woodward said. “Being the community policing unit, I was tasked with coming over here and seeing if there’s a way that we can help out.”

Even after this tragic accident, she still has a smile on her face, and that’s because she can maneuver around her house a lot easier now, thanks to Mobility Styles.

Mobility Styles owner Edward Nakhoul said, “I could see the smile one way, and she was crying the other way. As soon as she sat on that scooter, she was like happy.”

“Before I could even get through the whole story, Edward already had in his mind that he was going to help her out,” Woodward said.

With the help of the Sheriff’s Office, Edward donated the scooter to Ms. Debbie.

“Let your heart go on, and I know you have one, and thank you so much,” Beaulieu told the two gentlemen. "I can’t thank you enough for everything that the two of you have done."

Mobility Styles will also donate a lift to Ms. Debbie in the upcoming week, so that she can have her scooter while running her errands.
