UPDATE: Tropical Depression 3 has dissipated off the East Coast of Florida, according to Spectrum Bay News 9 Chief Meteorologist Mike Clay.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Tropical Depression Three is located offshore Florida’s East Coast Tuesday morning.

At 5 a.m., it’s about 40 miles east-northeast of West Palm Beach, Florida and it’s moving north at 12 mph.
It is about 55 miles northwest of Freeport Grand Bahama Island.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 35 mph with higher gusts.
An Air Force Reserve reconnaissance aircraft will investigate the depression later Tuesday morning.
No significant increase in strength is anticipated. If it briefly becomes a tropical storm, the strongest winds are expected to be east of the center, well offshore the U.S. coast.
On Wednesday, the combination of strong wind shear and a cold front is expected to result in rapid weakening and the system will dissipate.
