A Zephyrhills woman died after being hit by a semi truck while she walked on a rural Pasco County road early Wednesday.
Just after midnight, Chasity Lynn Roberts, 33, was walking south on Old Lakeland Road near Morningside Drive in Dade City when she "failed to yield" to a southbound tractor trailer, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Roberts was airlifted to Lakeland Regional Medical Center, where she later died from her injuries.
The driver of the 2006 Freightliner, 43-year-old Desi Jesus Sanchez of Auburndale, was not injured.
