The Hernando County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the deputy and suspect involved in a shooting Saturday night.

Around 7 p.m. Saturday, deputies responded to a home on Braemere Drive after a caller said a woman had been severely injured by a man.

While emergency personnel were attending to the woman, a gunshot rang out from inside the home. Deputies say they then learned the man was still inside the home.

Around 7:40 a.m., the man came out of the home armed with a "long gun," and a deputy shot him, the sheriff's office said.

The suspect, identified as 47-year-old Kenneth Scott Bartram, is currently being treated for his injuries at a Bay area trauma center.  His condition is listed as stable at this time. Bartram is charged with aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer.

The deputy involved in this shooting incident is 38-year-old Deputy Daniel Snyder. Snyder has been employed at the Hernando County Sheriff's Office since August 2010. As per standard protocol, he has been placed on paid administrative leave.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) will review the use of deadly force and will be working with the Hernando County Sheriff's Office on this investigation. This incident is also under review by the Hernando County Sheriff's Office Internal Affairs Unit.
