The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said a body was located near where a small abandoned boat was discovered this morning.
According to deputies, at approximately 10 a.m., a boater noticed the empty boat anchored in the lake at Ed Meddard Park, 5726 Panther Loop.
The boater notified the park ranger and the park ranger contacted the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.
HCSO deputies, the Marine Unit and the Dive Team responded and located a deceased white male in the water.
The male has been identified, but a next of kin has not been identified at this time.
There are no signs of foul play. The man was seen launching the boat today between 6- 7 a.m.
