Body found in Mulberry pond prompts death investigation

The Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a body was found Wednesday in a Mulberry pond.

Deputies received a call after a man fishing in a retention pond, near Imperial Parkway in Mulberry, found a body floating near the shore.

According to authorities, the body is that of a white man with brown hair, wearing a blue Florida Gators jersey, and black and orange swim trunks. The body has multiple tattoos on the hand, arm, chest, and knees.

Authorities are trying to determine his identity.
