ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- A pickup truck crashed into a house in St. Petersburg on Monday, injuring a woman inside, according to police.

The crash happened just before 5:30 p.m. at a residence in the 5300 block of 38th Avenue North.

The woman, identified as 38-year-old Ashley Zurla, was in bed when the truck crashed through the home, police said. She was taken to a hospital in stable condition.

Children were also inside the home at the time of the crash, but they were not injured, according to police.

The driver, 44-year-old Samuel Anderson, was cited for careless driving.
