CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. — A driver in Citrus County died Sunday afternoon after they collided with another driver head-on Sunday, according to the Citrus County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said the incident occurred around 3:05 p.m. Nicholas Schwartz, 21, was reportedly driving south on North Citrus Avenue when his Honda SUV hydroplaned on the wet roadway.

Schwartz's vehicle crossed the centerline into oncoming traffic and collided with a pickup truck. He was transported from the scene by emergency responders and later died at an area hospital.

The driver of the pickup truck, Linda Parrish, 75, also sustained serious injuries. Parrish's passenger, Rufus Parrish, 82, sustained minor injuries.

All three individuals were transported to Bayfront Seven Rivers Hospital in Crystal River for treatment.
