William Andrus, 77, faces charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery.

Manatee County deputies were called to the 2000 block of Lakeside Boulevard at about 4 p.m. after reports of a fight.

Andrus got into an argument with 67-year-old Joseph Prisco and 68-year-old Brenda Prisco, over "issues they've had as neighbors," according to the Sheriff's Office.

At some point, the argument turned physical. Brenda Prisco told deputies that Andrus began hitting her husband with a brick. She said when she tried to intervene, Andrus began hitting her.

Andrus then pulled out a gun and fired several shots, hitting Joseph Prisco in the side.

Joseph and Brenda Prisco were taken to a hospital for their injuries. Joseph Prisco underwent surgery and is recovering, according to deputies.
