BRADENTON, Fla. — For United States Army veterans Jeff and Cathy Douglas, their community has become family.

The Douglas's know all about family, as they have three biological children of their own. For decades they have made it their mission to change the lives of young children living in the Bay Area.

Since 1999, Jeff and Cathy have fostered 97 children and adopted three.

Two years ago, Jeff and Cathy decided to embark on their next adventure and open 3 Keys Brewery on State Road 64 in Bradenton.

This Thanksgiving they decided to open their doors to anyone and everyone who wanted to join their family for Thanksgiving dinner. The entire meal was completely free.

"For us it was a no brainer because we've seen a lot of the need from being foster parents," explained Jeff Douglas.

Dozens of volunteers showed up to help set up, donate food, and serve to those who came in to spend the day with the Douglas family.

When it was all said and done, volunteers packed up plates to go and went into the streets to give meals to Bradenton's homeless.
