PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — Organizers of the 4th annual organic food drive in New Port Richey are asking for donations of certified USDA organic food.

FarmNet organizers from Friendship Farms & Fare are parterning with Metropolitan Ministries and the Tampa Bay Network to End Hunger to inspire the community to share high quality organic food with those in need.
"The holiday organic food drive aims to make an immediate and gratifying change in the way we think about those we help by sharing healthy, nutritious, and good food with persons in need of good nutrition," organizers said.
Organizers are asking people to donate organic food in cans and boxes, no produce or perishables, for distribution to low-income and less fortuante families in the area. A number of local markets, Habitat for Humanity, and Grand Gardens are joining the drive.
The holiday food drive will run through December 14. Periodic distrubition events will be scheduled through December.
