ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Skies will go between partly cloudy and mostly clear into early Saturday morning.

  • Warming trend
  • Rainy on Sunday
  • Colder by Monday

The lows won’t be nearly as cold as the past couple mornings with lows mainly in the 50s, but some low 60s near the coast.

Saturday will be the warmest day of the week with highs surging back to near 80 in the afternoon. It will be a comfortable day though with relatively low humidity and a nice breeze from the southeast.

Clouds will be on the increase, but we don’t expect rain.

Saturday night will be a nice, mild night with lows near 70 under partly cloudy skies.

Sunday will feature mostly cloudy skies with a line of thunderstorms moving in from the Gulf. We expect that line to move in during the first half of the day, but the timing will depend on where you live. The first areas to get it will be in Citrus and Hernando County.

The line will move through in a northeast to southwest orientation, so therefore it could take a few hours for it to move through some areas, especially Polk and Manatee County. With that in mind, some areas will have the rain earlier in the morning, while other areas won’t get the rain until early afternoon.

It will then move off to the east with cooler air moving in behind it.

Highs will be in the 70s Sunday morning, followed by temperatures dropping into the 60s in the afternoon. It will be a windy day also.

Cooler air will be with us for next Monday with highs in the 60s under partly cloudy skies. There will be a few light showers coming in from the Gulf due to the strong northwest wind.

Tuesday will be chilly with highs in the upper 50s and a breezy north wind. Skies will be partly cloudy with a chance for a morning coastal shower.
