LAND O' LAKES — One person was killed in a shooting Wednesday night in Land O' Lakes.
- Incident started with domestic dispute
- Woman went to neighbor's home, was followed
- William Rogers, 55, shot and killed
According to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, one person was shot just after 9 p.m. at a location in the 8000 block of Belcher Road.
Deputies said Marci Ryner, 51, fled her home to contact 911 after being involved in a domestic violence incident with William Rogers, 55, who also resided at the home.
Ryner went to the home of a neighbor, Brian Scruggs, 50.
According to the Sheriff's Office, Rogers entered Scruggs's home without his permission.
"The homeowner confronted William and asked him to leave multiple times, at which point (Scruggs) defended himself by shooting William," authorities said in a news release.
Rogers died at the scene.
The shooting remains under investigation and no further information was released.
