CITRUS COUNTY, Fla. — The Citrus County Sheriff's Office says a corrections officer who works in Marion County has been charged with two counts of capital sexual battery.

James Touchton, 37, of Inverness, was arrested Monday night. He was also charged with lewd and lascivious molestation on a child under 12 years old.

He works at the Lowell Correctional Institute.

The Sheriff's Office said the incident was reported Friday morning and that a deputy spoke with both alleged victims.

Sheriff Mike Prendergast said Touchton inflicted "physical and emotional harm" to the victims.

Touchton was interviewed and later placed in the Citrus County Detention Facility.

It's the second time this year that a corrections officer from Inverness was charged with sexual abuse. In February, 41-year-old Kenneth Slanker was charged with sexual battery on a victim under 12, lewd and lascivious battery, and lewd and lascivious molestation.

Slanker was employed at the federal Coleman Correctional Complex
