HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. — A hearing is being held Wednesday for a Tampa Middle School teacher accused of having inappropriate relationships with two underage students.

  • Hearing for teacher accused of sexual battery on students
  • Alex Hull accused of having sexual relations with minors
  • Incidents occurred between November 2017 and May 2018

Alex Hull, 31, is charged with several counts of sexual battery, lewd and lascivious conduct, and showing obscene materials to a minor.

Hull taught 8th grade Algebra at Benito Middle School in New Tampa.  Reports say he had "relationships" with two underage students for about six months.

Investigators say the incidents occurred between November 2017 and May 2018.

Police said the mother of one of those victims came forward, accusing the teacher of having inappropriate relationships with the students.

Hull was arrested just days before the first day of class in August of 2018.

Hillsborough County Public Schools officials said Hull worked at the middle school since 2014 and had no prior complaints.

Benito Middle School's website says Hull is an artist who incorporates art and technology in his classroom.

Hull is no longer allowed back on the school's campus.
