ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — St. Petersburg police are investigating the death of an infant. 

Authorities have announced the death is not suspicious, adding a preliminary investigation determined there are no obvious signs of foul play.

Authorities confirmed the investigation around noon, saying officers responded to 3620 16th Avenue South at 11:33 a.m. for the death of a 7-month-old boy. 

The child was taken to Johns Hopkins/All Children's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators are awaiting a Medical Examiner's report for a final determination on the cause of death.
