NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. — The Pasco County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in identifying a burglar.

A naked burglar.

  • Pasco deputies searching for burglary suspect
  • Suspect seen in video wearing only a bra & baseball cap
  • Man broke into cars, stole tools, officials say

The man was wearing just a bra and baseball cap when he jumped a fence to get onto the US Water Services Corporation's property in New Port Richey on Sunday, according to deputies.

Investigators said the man committed multiple auto burglaries to company vehicles on July 14 and then left the scene.

Employees first noted something was amiss on Monday when they found the doors of company trucks were open, as were panels where tools and equipment were stored, General Manager Edward Mitchell said.

"This individual spent so much time in our yard, walking around, looking things over, opening trucks. And again, there could've been vandalism, too. We were very fortunate that the yard was not vandalized," Mitchell said.

The footage released by the sheriff's office came from surveillance cameras the company just installed six months ago.

"All caught on camera, which the sign says we have videtapping taking place, which is kind of odd, too. Never ceases to amze me what people do," he said.

A full inventory hasn't been done yet, but so far Mitchell said he noticed some tools and a duffel bag full of clothes missing.  The suspect also left behind drug paraphernalia, according to deputies.

“Unfortunately, crime does happen. It happened to us this time. Hopefully, the public can figure out who did this and provide some assistance to the sheriff’s office," Mitchell said.

U.S. Water Services Corporation has been in business for 15 years and employs 135 people in the Pasco County area.
