TAMPA, Fla. — Music has a way of healing the soul.

The musicians behind nonprofit Heart Strings for Heroes hold that belief close to their hearts. It's their hope to bring that healing power to Bay area veterans through what they call "Music Empowerment Training."

Organization founder Wade Sabourin and bandmate Jimmy Delisi have teamed up with James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa to bring that training to veterans in the form of guitar lessons.

The idea is a simple one: teach wounded warriors to create music in the hope that the act of creation helps them heal both mentally and physically.
