LAND O' LAKES, Fla. — A place for foster families to get help is now open in Land O’ Lakes.

The Fostering Change Foster Closet officially opened up on Saturday.

Foster families will now have a place to get free supplies for their kids. Things like clothes, toys, baby furniture and other things were donated for the cause.

George Agovino worked for months to fix up an old house to turn it into the closet.

“Any child that comes into care, any family that needs something, just call. We’re ready to go,” Agovino said.

As a foster parent himself, he saw firsthand the need that families have when they take a child in.

“We get a call, somebody needs a crib. I know exactly where to get the crib now. Then that child doesn’t sit waiting for one. So I think it’s going to be amazing. I truly do,” Agovino said.

Several area businesses donated to fix up the house, getting it roofing, plumbing and power.

The supplies are all being donated by the community, with a lot coming in on Saturday.

Agovino doesn’t want to stop there. He wants families to keep coming back whenever they need it.

“Our next goal is we’re going to build a playground. These kids will be able to come whenever they want. They can come here and play and just be a kid,” Agovino said.
