TAMPA, Fla. — For the first time ever, three Air Force Global Strike Command Bombers will do a trifecta flyover during the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.

The three bombers will be coming from Air Force bases in South Dakota, Missouri, and North Dakota.

They will not land before the flyover, either, so a special plane will be used to fuel them in mid-air.

Then, they’ll all come together, perfectly timed, and fly over Raymond James Stadium during the National Anthem.

“It’s gonna be loud,” said Major Patrick Burke, a B1 Pilot. “What they’re going to see - they’re going to see strategic power in the air. The U.S. Air Force is of our NATO allies is the only one with a strategic bomber fleet that can reach worldwide so they’re going to see that and hopefully they get that feel in the bottom of their chest of patriotism and just the proud feeling we have as Americans.”

MacDill officials are also warning residents they may see, or hear, the bombers on Friday near Ray Jay when they do their practice flyovers.
