- “Superfan” John Blakey has been a fan his entire life
- He says the Bucs are back as fans celebrate the news
John Blakey—who Bucs fans may know as “Superfan” John—was watching a movie at home Sunday night when he saw the announcement.
“Last night was emotional. As soon as I heard, I teared up a little bit,” Blakey said.
Blakey may own every piece of Buccaneers memorabilia you can think of in his Tampa home, which he showed Spectrum Bay News 9. He has everything from posters to helmets to bobbleheads and everything in between.
He’s been a fan literally his entire life, born in Tampa right around the same time the Bucs started as a team. But the Brady stuff means a lot more today.

“For him to actually come to Tampa Bay means a lot. He chose our team out of 32 teams, made us relevant, put us on the map,” Blakey said.
Wearing his number 12 jersey, he says all of the worries he and others had over the last 40 days about who the next Bucs quarterback would be can be put to rest for at least one more season.
“Everyone watch out because the Bucs are back! We’re coming for you.”
