TAMPA, Fla. – Jenn Gambaro may have moved back to Destin, but she spent 18 years here in Tampa becoming a fan during their run to the 2004 Stanley Cup.

“Last minute we were drunk the other night, drinking some cocktails. We were like, ‘the heck with it! let’s go down there,’ so we got off work, we packed up and drove down.”

Coming along for the ride and support was her spouse, Ian Tucker. The trip took about 7 hours.

Tucker is a Boston fan, but Gambaro is urging him to love the Bolts.

“The Lightning,” she says, “are the epitome of a dream. Like who would’ve ever thought that Tampa would be a hockey town? But how big is hockey here? And I love the camaraderie. I love just being here in this general area when there’s a hockey game going on. It’s just, it’s, it’s electric.”

The Lighting take on the Avalanche at home for Game 6 Sunday evening at 8 p.m. Colorado leads the series 3-2.
