Police said the incident unfolded when an argument between two parties escalated and someone went to their car to get a gun and fired into a crowd.

People like Corey Shankle were still trying to make sense of it all. He lives in the Element high-rise just a block away from where three separate shootings have happened since January. All starting from arguments.

Shankle says it just doesn't shock him much anymore.

“I had another friend that got shot as well too earlier this week when he was in another club off of Nebraska," Shankle said. “He survived thank God. He was a bouncer there, so it happens a lot in these nightclubs more often than it’s reported.”

Shankle says he doesn't know what can be done to prevent people from turning a night out partying into a night of tragedy. Having more police presence is an idea, he says, but there is always a concern about getting caught in a situation you can't get out of.

“They could’ve shot anybody," he said, “I mean he did shoot into the crowd at random, so each one of those bullets could’ve been for anybody. If I would’ve been on the wrong side of the street it could’ve been me.”

Anyone with information that could lead to an arrest is asked to call the Tampa Police Department.
