TAMPA, Fla. — Spectrum partnered with Ovation TV to make a $10,000 donation to the Prodigy Cultural Arts Program.

It’s all part of the Stand For The Arts initiative.

The Prodigy Cultural Arts Program, which is more than two decades old, focuses on showing children the importance of cultural arts by recognizing local arts, cultural and educational organizations and programs.

“We knew we were getting it presented, but the kids didn’t know, so that’s what made it so incredibly exciting, and for Prodigy, who’s been around for 23 years transforming young lives, every bit of funding that we’re able to get continues to go back right back into the community to continue to help those youths who really need cultural arts in their lives,” said Sarah Combs, Executive Director & CEO of University Area CDC, the operating organization of Prodigy.

Spectrum and Ovation TV and Spectrum have given out 60 awards since the initiative started in 2017, totaling $600,000 towards arts education.

“Our partnership with Ovation TV will enable these organizations to continue to serve as vital arts and cultural resources in their communities – which complements our focus on investing in and strengthening the towns and cities we serve,” said Adam Falk, Senior Vice President, State Government Affairs for Charter Communications, Inc., which operates the Spectrum brand of Internet, TV, Mobile and Voice services. “We congratulate this year’s Stand For The Arts honoree Prodigy Cultural Arts Program for its commitment to supporting Tampa artists and expanding access to high-quality arts education, exhibits, concerts and performances.”

Prodigy Cultural Arts Program is one of 10 organizations receiving support in Spectrum markets across the U.S.
