A roller coaster located in the Fun Spot location in Kissimmee is closed pending an investigation after a child was found injured under the ride, according to a statement from Fun Spot on Friday.

The statement confirmed that an “unfortunate incident” took place on the Galaxy Spin Roller Coaster that resulted in an injury.

Osceola County Fire Rescue responded to the incident and reported that the child was found under the track with traumatic injuries.

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, which is responsible for inspecting rides at smaller theme parks and attractions in Florida confirmed that the event happened, and that an ongoing investigation was in place.

Fun Spot said that the park is working with authorities during the investigation.

“The safety of our guests is our number one priority. We are working with the Florida Department of Agriculture and the manufacturer to investigate the incident,” the park said. “The FDACS has inspected the ride and found it to be in normal operating condition with no mechanical issues. They also found the ride was operated following all safety procedures and guidelines outlined by the manufacture and industry standards.”

The park also confirmed that the ride would remain closed while the investigation was underway.
