The organization has operated in the country for more than 40 years and has responded during hurricanes, earthquakes, and a pandemic. It makes two or three flights a week to Haiti, bringing in much needed supplies and helping to get missionaries in and out of the country.

Haitian authorities had shut down the air space for a time but are now allowing more flights. However, flights are still not allowed into the capital city of Port-au-Prince.

Agape still has more than 20,000 pounds of supplies that it is now flying to Haiti.

Chief Operating Officer at Agape Flights Allen Speer says the current situation on the ground is rough.

“In talking to the mission partners that have lived there and been there a long time, they said this is the worst it’s ever been,” Speer said.

Speer says that the United Nations needs to get involved to bring order back to the country that is currently under siege by gangs.
