TALLAHASSEE, FL - This is anything but a typical day at Wal-Mart.

Dillan Gibbons and his FSU teammates are giving Boys and Girls Club members a Holiday shopping spree in Tallahassee. Each football player is paired up with two kids and takes them into the store equipped with $100 gift cards.

Gibbons is one of the event’s organizers. He used his Big Man Big Heart foundation to raise over $10,000 thanks to the Name, Image, and Likeness law passed in July by the state legislature. Gibbons is shopping with two young ladies, who are all about clothes.

“(Dillan) is doing a good job helping us,” said one of the shoppers.

“I am just happy I can help with the colors and the style,” said Gibbons with a smile.

FSU Starting quarterback Jordan Travis also co-founded the event. He’s helping two youngsters in the gaming section.

“Using our platform for what we have,” Travis said. “Just giving back, man. It’s big for me and putting a smile on these kids’ faces means everything the world to me.”

“I am very thankful,” said a young man shopping with Travis.

That’s the sentiment felt through Wal-Mart on this afternoon. Kids loading up their carts and crossing off those wish lists. Then it was time to ring up everything.

One by one kids loaded up the checkout belt without a worry for how it would be paid.  With each gift card swiped and everything bagged up.

The kids headed out. But there is one more surprise waiting for them back at the Boys and Girls Club. Gibbons and his family organized a pizza party for the kids and their families, not even the parents knew this was happening.

But that’s not all!

Big Man Big Heart bought more gift cards for the parents to take home and use throughout the holiday season.

“To be able to get in front a group of people like that,” said Gibbons, who always wanted to do good with the new freedom of NIL. “Not only kids, but their parents alike - absolutely mind-blowing experience. Just to make the holiday season a little more special.”

Dillan Gibbons and his foundation are committed to helping those less fortunate. He vowed next year’s shopping spree will be even bigger. But this Big Man knows that as long as the gift comes from the heart, the result is anything but small.
