Clearwater Junior Jarvis Boatwright is ready to have a breakout season.

Ironically, safety wasn’t his first choice, but the kid who loves to hit changed his position, from the guy who was always getting hit.

"I was die hard running back when I came in says the Tornadoes Junior, and a couple injuries set me back , so I was like maybe I should try another position and maybe I won’t get hurt as much".

Now’s it Jarvis who lays the hurt, last season as a Sophomore he was one of the Tornadoes leading tacklers, and now runs the backside of the defense this year.

And the Colleges have taken notice, with offers from Twenty-Eight D-I Schools ranging from Power-5's like LSU, Georgia, Florida, Florida State to Florida's other in-state programs, USF and UCF.

Tenacious on the field and in the classroom, Jarvis carries a 3.85 GPA with the goal of studying Physical Therapy in college.

"He Flips the switch you know, Says his Coach Thor Jozwiak, we talk about that through out this whole game, at some point in time you got to flip the switch and on Friday night’s under the lights here at Clearwater High School. He flips the switch and it’s go time".

Jarvis says don't expect a college decision anytime soon. He said he will make his choice either before his senior year or after it, he just wants to focus on football and school right now and make the best of both, that's why he has been chosen as this week's Athlete Of The Week.
