TAMPA, Fla. — Tampa Catholic Head Football coach Jeris McIntyre has had his share of four star athletes, but he has never had a player like two way player Jameer Grimsley.

"End goal is always for guys to get to the next level and play in the National Football League. if you play at the SEC level you should be able to go to the NFL".

The Crusaders head coach should know, having played with the Kansas City Chiefs he is an excellent judge of talent.

With 4.4 speed and a wide out build, Jameer, a wide receiver and defensive back was recruited by many power-5 schools, but for him, chosing Alabama and the SEC to play defensive back was all about chasing his future dream.

"The Fact that Alabama put so many players in the NFL at my position, high first round picks, so I’m thinking big, you know I feel like I have the potential to be a first round pick". Said the Crusaders Senior.

Jameer made his college commitment official this summer at the end of his junior year and the way he chose to do it was a little different than most.

The Crusaders senior went to a local Sporting goods store and made his choice over social media, it was his mother's idea and he even used a replica of Bama coach Nick Saban’s legendary hat to make it official.

Jameer is happy to have the pressure of making the decision over and just wants to focus on trying to help Tampa Catholic win a state title in his upcoming senior year.
