Texas is feeling its coldest air mass in decades, and it's breaking record cold temperatures left and right.

Here's a list of those, with some context added for some of our bigger cities.

Before we get into some of those records, consider this: Anchorage, Alaska dropped to 16 degrees on Monday morning.

That means that Dallas, Austin and San Antonio were all considerably colder than Alaska's biggest city on Monday. Take a look at some of the impressive record cold early this week.

Dallas

Sunday: High of 22°, low of 9°

  • Coldest high temperature since Feb. 2, 2011 (20°) 
  • New record low temperature for February 14 (old record: 15° in 1906)
  • New record cold high temperature for February 14 (old record: 27° in 1951)
  • Coldest temperature since Feb. 4, 1996 (8°)
  • Average daily temperature of 15.5° was the coldest since Dec. 22, 1990 (14.5°)
  • Wind chill dropped to -10°

Monday: High of 14°, low of 4°

  • Coldest temperature since Dec. 23, 1989 (-1°)
  • Tied for third-coldest daily high temperature on record
  • Coldest high temperature since Dec. 22, 1989
  • New record low temperature for Feb. 15 (old record: 15° in 1909)
  • New record cold high temperature for Feb. 15 (old record: 31° in 1909)
  • Average daily temperature of 9.0° was the coldest since Dec. 22, 1989 (8.5°)
  • Wind chill dropped to -16°

Tuesday: High of 18°, low of -2°

  • New record low temperature for Feb. 16 (old record: 12° in 1903)
  • New record cold high temperature for Feb. 16 (old record: 32° in 1979)
  • Coldest temperature since Jan. 31, 1949 (-2°)
  • Fifth time on record below zero
  • Wind chill dropped to -12°

Wednesday: High of 27°, low of 18°

Austin

Sunday: High of 30°, low of 13°

  • Second-coldest low temperature for Feb. 14 (record: 10° in 1899)
  • New record cold high temperature for February 14 (old record: 33° in 1951)
  • Coldest daily high temperature since Feb. 6, 2014 
  • Coldest temperature since Jan. 7, 2014 (12°)
  • Wind chill dropped to -4°

Monday: High of 25°, low of 8°

  • New record low temperature for Feb. 15 (old record: 38° in 1909)
  • New record cold high temperature for Feb. 15 (old record: 20° in 1909)

Tuesday: High of 26°, low of 7°
