TAMPA, Fla. — Serengeti Flyer, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay's newest thrill ride, is now open to the public.

What You Need To Know

At a record-breaking 105 feet tall, the pendulum-style swing attraction is the tallest and fastest of its kind. It features dueling arms that swing riders back and forth, reaching speeds of 68 mph and a maximum height of 135 feet.

While on the ride, riders will experience multiple negative-G moments, and, perhaps, feel as though they are levitating out of their seat.

Busch Gardens says the intensity level can be adjusted to give riders a “milder or wilder” ride experience. The ride has a minimum height requirement of 48 inches.

“Thrills are in full swing at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay with yet another exciting record-setting ride for our guests to enjoy,” park president Neal Thurman said in a statement.

In addition to the thrills, Serengeti Flyer offers views of the park’s 65-acre Serengeti Plain.

To celebrate the opening of the attraction, the city of Tampa lit up Old City Hall, the Tampa Riverwalk and downtown bridges in purple and lime green.

Serengeti Flyer joins a lineup of attractions at Busch Gardens that includes Iron Gwazi, Tigris, Cheetah Hunt and more.
